KUKUA (Swahili for "to grow") is a design studio based in Zanzibar, Tanzania, founded by French designer Emmanuel Babled.
We create contemporary furniture, interiors and bespoke projects by bringing together design, architecture, craftsmanship and material research. Every project is developed through close collaboration with artisans, manufacturers and local production networks across East Africa and Europe.
